Hiking from one youth hostel to the other

Luxembourg is crisscrossed by a network of footpaths extending some 5000 km. Well laid out and sign-posted, it is the densest in the world. The tranquil beauty of the countryside, with its castles, its archaeological remains, its picturesque gorges and its romantic waterfalls will wow you. There is much to see and to do in Luxembourg ... You will be surprised!

The Luxemburgish youth hostels have always been connected by beautiful trails through magnificent landscapes. In the past, only a few paths had been marked out in the Luxembourgish forests and often the youth hostel trails were the only sign-posted routes one could follow. That this is no longer the case today can be seen on the many posts that are colorfully decorated on the whole length with different arrows, rectangles, and circles. All these signs can confuse hikers and they have to solve several problems: where am I, where do I come from and what sign do I have to follow next? For that reason, the youth hostels team only marked the trail where no sign is indicating the way. On all the other routes, one follows the signs of the national trails, the "Mullerthal Trail" or the paths of the CFL. If the direction changes at a crossroad, the youth hostels marked this change with our own signs and with the most important information, such as: direction, destination, distance and which signs to follow. All our trails can be walked using a GPS device, which shows you your current position and will guide you reliably. But in the eventuality of an unexpected detour, it is essential to have a traditional topographical map on you.

The youth hostel association offers several packages from Easter to 31^st October. Make your choice and we will take care of your booking. Please make your reservation at least one week in advance and even earlier during the peak season. All offers are also available with an accompanying guide for groups from 6 to 20 people.
